NOTES

Lots of birds had just arrived -- swallows, martins, vireos, Wood Thrush, warblers, Scarlet Tanager.

Also some were migrating northward -- Caspian Terns, Bonaparte's Gulls, Yellow-rumped Warblers, White-throated Sparrow.

But some common summer birds were still absent -- Indigo Bunting, Prothonotary Warbler, Hooded Warbler, Orchard Oriole, Cliff Swallow, Ruby-throated Hummingbird, Chimney Swift.

We nearly had a sweep of the woodpeckers!
