Revised 20 October 2004 after a review of notes and recordings
Second revision 12 March 2015 after review of field notes and new
resources
DELETIONS . . . |
|||||||||||
Habitats included margins of rivers, channels, and cochas, varzea,
restingas (slightly higher ground
on former river levees in varzea), aguajals (Mauritia swamps), and terra firme (restricted to low ridges east of the river) |
|||||||||||
Almost all of the area surveyed lies within the floodplain of the Rio Ucayali, so within the past few
hundred years parts of the area probably lay both east and west of the course of the river. Thus there might be persisting remnants or mixtures of populations now mostly separated by the river.
R = number of entries in my notebooks (a rough index of frequency of encounters)
G = number of tape-recordings
All recordings and observations (unless otherwise noted) were at locations between
the mouth of the Rio Blanco (5-35 S, 73-50 W) and the town of San Pedro (5-55 S 74-05 W)
Nomenclature conforms with SACC (12 March 2015) with variants from Schulenberg et al. (2010).
